Once every April, Realtists come together to demonstrate our continued commitment to Democracy in Housing.   This year is no different, as we have planned an exciting series of Realtist Week programs designed to  Educate…  Empower… and Mobilize our community.  Increasing Black homeownership is our goal.  So, take a moment to review the schedule below.  Note the dates on your calendar, register and join in with your family, friends, and peers to learn, listen, share, and plan for the “new normal” and how we make homeownership a real prospect for Black Americans in our community.

Sunday, April 7th @ 11am

We are visiting Zion Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia for Sunday worship, fellowship, and to support its community outreach initiatives.  Join us in praise led by Joshua N. King, Jr., Pastor at 125 W County St in Hampton, VA.   No registration necessary.

Monday, April 8th @ 9am

The Hampton Roads Realtists’ Fair 2024 is a unique, urban real estate venue, featuring exhibits from local and regional mortgage lenders, real estate brokerages, government housing agencies, real estate professionals, and affiliates.  Visit their tables and learn all about their products and services, while connecting with local contractors, suppliers, and vendors.  This event will be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center.  This event is FREE and open to the public.  Click here to register for a chance to win one of dozens of door prizes.


Wednesday, April 10th @ 8:00am

The Mayors’ Pancake Breakfast is our signature event for Realtist Week 2024.  Join us as mayors from Chesapeake (Honorable Dr. Richard West), Newport News (Honorable Mr. Phillip Jones), Norfolk (Honorable Kenneth Alexander), Portsmouth (Honorable Mr. Shannon Glover), and Virginia Beach (Honorable Mr. Bobby Dyer) present their vision for affordable housing and actions underway to deliver more affordable housing and stem homelessness in their cities.  Others invited are the mayors of Hampton and Suffolk.

The breakfast is a must-attend for those with a stake in housing in Hampton Roads.  Registration includes breakfast and refreshments.

This event will be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center.  Admission is just $35.00 per person.   Register early.


Thursday, April 11th @ 6pm

HRAREB will host its women’s empowerment event She | Me | Her! to introduce life hacks that help women improve time management, reduce stress, increase productivity, succeed in business, and balance work-life.

Using a conversational approach, you will hear from five (5) highly successful and impactful leading women having remarkable success in work and life.  Moderated by WAVY-TVs Regina Mobley, their conversation, and testimonies, will revolve around removing mental barriers, setting goals, putting self first, branding, accessing capital and credit, building wealth, and how to enjoy and keep it all. Our panelists include:

  • Sheilah Belle – Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of The Belle Report

Friday, April 12th @ 6pm

HRAREB will host Realtists After-Hours, a business mixer to introduce prospective members to the Association and its community partners. The mixer will provide a venue for networking and exchange of ideas among local business leaders, introduce you to some of our business partners and sponsors and foster collaboration among the regions real estate enthusiasts and professionals.  This event will be held at the Delta Hotel by Marriott located at 725 Woodlake Drive in Chesapeake.  Come join the party!

Admission is just $35.00 per person.  Registration (required) includes Heavy Hors d’oeuvres.  Register early.


Saturday, April 13th @ 9am

Community Day (the Building Black Wealth Tour) is a day of wealth building for everyone.  It’s a combination of wealth building seminars, games, prizes, and exhibits from financial, health, insurance, mortgage lending, and real estate professionals of all genres.  Some of the topics include:
